The biggest issue with most lead magnets is that they start off of as a way to collect email addresses BUT don't give any thought to what it is that will be sold after. 

Not having a clear outcome leads to generic, one size fits none lead magnets such as packing lists or long bucket list destinations. 

Instead of just collecting email subscribers, the lead magnet for your travel business needs to address what are the objections standing between your potential client being curious and being ready to take a next step.
